Sunflower
Every glacier is a seed on a golden-angle spiral. The core is 2025, the halo is 1984.

What it shows
Every glacier is a seed in a sunflower, the healthiest at the centre and the weakest at the edge. The heart of each dot is its snow in 2025 and its halo is its snow in 1984, so a cyan dot in a cyan halo stayed healthy, and a red heart in a blue halo is a glacier that collapsed. Bigger dots are bigger glaciers.
Data
For each glacier, the average share of its surface covered by snow over the first eight years (halo) and over the last six years (heart), and its area.
How it is made
The dots follow the spiral of sunflower seeds (the golden angle, 137.5 degrees), in order of their snow in 2025, and are drawn with a halo.
